Did this for my Wood/Furniture Design course, Spring 2010 semester.
The assignment was to create an object of special significance to you, and a container for that object. I chose the Game Boy Pocket and a game cartridge, seeing as the GBP was my first handheld game system, and receiving it was kind of the start of becoming the nerd I am today.
I used exact measurements from my old Game Boy Pocket and game cartridge, and I'm happy to say the final product is almost an exact replica of a real GBP. Unfortunately, it doesn't work... Someday I'll make a functional one!
Game cartridge was hand carved from hickory or maple wood (I'm not sure which, haha) with wax finish. Game Boy Pocket is made of mahogany with tung oil finish.
